Competition
Our Competition Team offers dedicated dancers the chance to train, perform and compete at regional and national competitions, showcasing their talent across various dance genres.
Ballet/Lyrical
Our Ballet/Lyrical classes provide a beautiful blend of technique, grace, and expression, suitable for all ages. These classes teach the fundamentals of ballet while encouraging personal expression through lyrical movement.
Cheer Dance/HipHop
Designed for young children aged 2-8, our Cheer Dance/Hip-Hop classes combine high-energy cheer moves with fun hip-hop rhythms. These classes are perfect for kids to learn coordination, teamwork, and to express themselves through dance.
HipHop/Majorette
Our Hip-Hop/Majorette classes, available for older youth aged 9-18, fuse the dynamic styles of hip-hop with the precision and power of majorette. These classes are perfect for dancers who love high-energy choreography and want to bring their best moves to the floor.

LaLa Land Academy was born out of the Orangeburg Area Boys & Girls Club Fine Arts Program and has grown into a vibrant dance company committed to shaping the next generation of performers.
Our mission is to mold and inspire both girls (Lallipops) and boys (Legends) to master a diverse range of dance styles, including ballet, lyrical, praise dance, majorette, and more. Our academy is more than a dance school; it is a family where young dancers are nurtured, encouraged and empowered to reach their full potential. We are proud to be a cornerstone of the greater Orangeburg community, inspiring a love for the arts and fostering the next generation of dance talent.
Meet Our Founder
Shaping and Molding Your Star
Ms. La’Nequa “LaLa” Ferguson brings over 28 years of dance experience to her role as the founder and owner of LaLa Land Academy. Her journey in dance began at the tender age of six with ballet, training under the guidance of Shirley Fields Martin at the Performing Arts Academy in Orangeburg. Her dedication to her craft took her to prestigious summer intensives with Ballet Hispanico and the Dance Theatre of Harlem in New York, where she honed her skills and expanded her repertoire.
Throughout her career, Ms. Ferguson has worked with hundreds of students across Orangeburg County, sharing her passion for dance and fostering a love of the arts in each of her students. Her commitment to nurturing young talent is evident in her dedication to instilling confidence, discipline, and creativity, empowering the next generation of dancers to excel both on and off the stage.
OUR LOCATIONS
Vance, South Carolina
At our Vance location, we offer a variety of dance classes tailored to different age groups and skill levels. Rehearsals are held on Monday evenings, with classes in Ballet/Lyrical and Cheer Dance/Hip-Hop for young children, as well as Hip-Hop/Majorette for older youth. Whether your child is just starting their dance journey or looking to enhance their skills, we have a class that fits their needs.

Our Orangeburg location hosts rehearsals every Tuesday evening, offering a range of dance classes to engage and inspire. Young children can explore Ballet/Lyrical and Cheer Dance/Hip-Hop, while older youth can bring their energy to Hip-Hop/Majorette. With a focus on technique, expression, and fun, our classes help dancers build confidence and skills in a supportive environment.
