STUDIO POLICIES

To ensure a safe and enjoyable experience for all our students and families, LaLa Land Academy has established a set of studio policies. We've also compiled a list of frequently asked questions to provide quick answers to common inquiries. Please review these guidelines to help you understand our procedures and make the most of your time with us.

General Information

  • What types of dance classes do you offer?
    LaLa Land Academy offers ballet, jazz, lyrical, hip-hop, majorette, and praise dance classes.

  • What age groups are classes available for?
    Classes are available for children and teens aged 2 to 18 years old.

  • Do I need any prior experience to join a class?
    No prior experience is needed to join a class.

  • What should I wear to class? Are there specific attire requirements?
    For class, students should wear a pink or black leotard. For Saturday rehearsals, students should wear the LaLa Land Academy company colors: fuchsia (pink), black, and/or white. We also have rehearsal outfits available for order.

  • Do I need to bring any special equipment or shoes?
    Yes, you will need to bring all-black high-top Converse sneakers, ballet shoes, and jazz shoes. Any additional shoes must be approved by the director or instructor.

  • How do I sign up for a class?
    You can sign up for classes online.

Class Scheduling and Attendance

  • Can I join a class mid-session?
    Yes, but only if you (the parent) are willing to pay for the required uniform.

  • What happens if I miss a class?
    If you miss more than two classes, you will be removed from the routine that’s being taught at the time.

  • Do you offer make-up classes for missed sessions?
    Yes, make-up classes are available for an additional $25 per class.

  • Are there any holiday closures or special schedules?
    Yes, the holiday schedule is provided via Band (the company’s group communication tool).

Payment and Policies

  • When is tuition due?
    Tuition is due at the beginning of the month. You may pay for the season in full during registration or set up a monthly installment plan.

  • What happens if I’m unable to pay tuition?
    Your dancer(s) will not be able to participate in the end-of-season recital.

  • What is your refund policy?
    No refunds.

  • What is your policy on class cancellations due to weather or other emergencies?
    Classes will be made up, and the updated schedule will be posted on Band.

Performance and Recitals

  • Do students have opportunities to perform in recitals or competitions?
    All Lallipops and Legends are welcome to participate in recitals. Competitions are for the competition team only.

  • Are costumes required for performances?
    Yes, costumes are required.

  • How are recital dates and costume fees communicated?
    They are sent via email, and reminders are posted on Band.

  • Can family members attend performances?
    Yes, everyone is invited! The more, the merrier!

Studio Policies

  • What are your policies on student behavior and studio etiquette?
    The Director will communicate behavior issues with the parent. If the behavior continues, the student will no longer be able to take classes.

  • How do you handle injuries or accidents during class?
    First aid is on hand for immediate assistance, and parents are notified as soon as possible.

  • Are parents allowed to watch classes?
    No, they are not. Videos are sent via text and/or posted on Band.

  • What is your policy on bringing food or drinks into the studio?
    Water only; no food is allowed.

COVID-19 and Health Protocols

  • What health and safety measures are in place due to COVID-19?
    All equipment is cleaned after use, hand sanitizer is available upon entering the studio, and students can wash their hands at any time.

  • Are masks required during classes?
    Masks are not required at this moment, but we will implement a mask policy if cases continue to rise.

  • What is your policy on students who are feeling unwell?
    Students who are not feeling well are required to stay home if the illness is contagious.

Additional Offerings

  • Do you offer private lessons or special workshops?
    Yes, we do.

  • Are there any summer camps or intensive programs available?
    Yes, we do offer a summer camp.

  • Do you provide any opportunities for adult students?
    We would love to, but it is not offered at this moment.
